Well, well, well... look who survived another financial year! And if you’re anything like most small biz owners I know, you’re currently juggling reconciliations, EOFY receipts, and the general chaos that comes with tax season while still trying to keep your business afloat, your socials active, and your sanity (mostly) intact.
But here’s your friendly nudge: the new financial year is the perfect time to set “business New (financial) Year’s resolutions.”
Think of it as your chance to reset, refocus, and step into the new year with intention.
You know...'Get Shit Done'!
I've been trying to think of some ideas (for me), and here's a few I came up with that might help you to get you started:
✨ Get organised with your financials –If you’ve been stashing receipts in your car door or mixing up your personal and business accounts, this is your sign to tidy it up. A tidy financial system means less stress and more clarity to grow your biz. (Bayside Admin, I'm looking for you!)
✨ Learn something new –Always wanted to understand Facebook Ads? Or maybe you’ve been meaning to learn Canva so your posts don’t look like a 2003 WordArt special? Pick one thing and commit to building that skill this year. I've signed up for MasterClass...which is one of a million learning platforms out there.
✨ Start your email list –If you’ve been saying “I’ll do it one day,” consider this your gentle push to actually start that EDM list. Your socials are fab, but your list is where your warmest leads live, ready to hear from you (ahem!) consistently. So yeah, I'm going to send out this blog.
✨ Sort out your socials –Speaking of “one day,” if “post consistently on Facebook” or “finally get on LinkedIn” has been on your to-do list since forever, keep your eyes peeled.I’ll be dropping a new services offering very soon to help you get your socials off the back burner and into the spotlight – so you can finally tick it off your list, without the overwhelm.
Remember, it’s better to start imperfectly than to not start at all. Better done than perfect, always!
If you're into New (financial) Year resolutions, maybe pick one or two goals that will truly move your business forward, and give yourself permission to be perfectly imperfect as you work on them. And if sorting your socials is on your goals list, keep watching this space. Something exciting is on the way...soon! 👀✨
💌 Over to you: What are your new financial year goals? Pop them in the comments, or hit reply and let me know – I’d love to cheer you on!
